Handmade sterling silver Christmas ornaments are a specialty of Jan Webber Contemporary Jewelry, a one-woman company that also produces limited-edition jewelry. This website shows sterling silver ornaments that can be used for Christmas tree decorations or as pendant jewelry. Each piece is about 3 inches in diameter, and weighs about 1/2 ounce. Jan has made a different ornament each year since 1979. Each of these ornaments is hand-fabricated from heavy sterling wire which is cut, bent, forged, soldered and polished. The photos don't do justice to the highly-polished, sparkling white finish on the ornaments. Each piece shows the individual hammer blows that were used to create it, and these differ on each piece. Since the ornament/pendants are made by hand, they are extremely limited. The ornaments designed prior to 2000 are all in editions of under 200, and from 2000 on, the pieces are numbered and limited to 100 of each design. The stone series beginning in 2004 is limited to 50 of each design. The series terminates with the 2008 edition. | ||
